Auto supply chain faces broad raw-material cost pressure
2026-10-09
Gasgoo and Jiemian News reported on 9 October 2026 that raw-material prices across the automotive supply chain rose across the board, with more than 60 tyre makers issuing price-increase notices; vehicle makers and component suppliers alike now face a cost "wall".
For structural component suppliers, price-linkage mechanisms with OEMs, material substitution such as aluminium for copper, and process cost reduction will be the focus of quotation discussions; preparing cost reduction proposals and validation data early helps protect margins in annual price negotiations.
